Math: We are officially moving away from fractions and focusing on decimals for the time being. Although, while comparing equivalent decimals today using models, it was exciting to prove/disprove each other using - you guessed it - equivalent fractions! Tonight's homework is to have their quizzes signed and complete their BCD packet, pages 3+4.

Language Arts: We began our individual research projects today in cooperation with Mrs. Rose in the Media Center. This is an "in school" project but you will see their brochures in a few weeks. Essentially, we are morphing social studies content with information writing. One observation thus far is how too often they will read an article without thoroughly understanding what it is they should be learning. And oddly, it isn't the content-heavy words they're taking for granted; rather, it's words such as common, occasionally, average, varies, and exceed that have posed comprehension issues as they try to explain what they learned from the article....Stay tuned!
