Math: The 4th quiz should be home tonight. Please take a moment to review it with your child, sign it, and have it returned tomorrow. I was pleased with how well they collectively did which means we're charging towards probability real soon. In addition to tying up loose ends with decimals/fractions and working on probability, we have begun FASTT math to help master our basic multiplication facts. This will be every morning for the the next couple of months at the beginning of math class.

Language Arts: We discussed character and audience mood in stories and examined how moods are influenced in books. We also worked on subject pronouns.

Brave Little Tailor - read the story aloud and independently noted unfamiliar vocabulary words

Mushroom Man - read aloud and generated personal "keeper questions"

Weather Forecasting - read aloud and investigated vocabulary terms using background knowledge, dictionaries, and context

Social Studies: We began a discussion on changes to our environment using our own classroom as an example (completely changed the layout on Friday) and listened to The Little house.
