Math: Parent reports are coming home tonight with your student's Unit 3 assessment data. Please let me know if you have any questions about how to interpret it. Remember, the bottom section is the 5th grade content...

Today we continued discussing strategies to determine elapsed time. In addition, we reviewed how to determine the area and perimeter of geometric shapes using graph paper. This is a concept that is usually assessed on the MSA but isn't covered during the 4th grade curriculum sequence until the 4th quarter so we bring it up now...

The amount of homework depends on if your student was pulled for the area and perimeter small group work...p. 121-123 #s 2-27 all or odd only.

Language Arts: We will begin historical fiction novels this week. In the meantime, we are bringing to close four different stories in our groups.

Two Wise Children - Complete your focus question response prior to our discussion tomorrow.

Jean Labadie's Big Black Dog - Complete the interpreting words activity in preparation for tomorrow's discussion.

Diego Rivera - We discussed Diego's life and what traits he exhibited throughout. They need to complete their RRJ entry that goes along with our group work today.

Susan B. Anthony - We defined what "effective" and "desire" means and applied this to explain how Susan was effective in her life.

Science: The Take-Home Instrument Project is coming home today. Please sign and return the top page.

Reading Incentive Program begins tonight! Be sure to read over the expectations so you and your child won't be disappointed if they haven't met them at the end...
